Maximising the impact of experience through sound, light and vision

Display Solutions

Display solutions are becoming a key ingredient in many different spaces. Whether it is interactive, immersive or marketing content, it is key to ensure that the display solution is of a high standard and maximising the impact of the content being played. Substandard display solutions produce a poor end user experience or restrict the design of a space because of the limitations of a display. With planning and use of the right product, this should no longer be an obstacle.

Our primary display solution are LED Video Walls. LED video walls are comprised of Direct View LED displays (also called DV) that work together as a unit to display content as if it were a single screen. LED stands for ‘light-emitting diode’ which are tiny, two-lead semiconductor light sources. LED’s are special because unlike any other technology for digital displays, they produce and emit light on their own. This makes them long lasting and extremely durable.

LED VIDEO WALL

COMPONENTS OF AN LED VIDEO WALL DISPLAY

PIXEL PITCH SIZE

When choosing an LED Video wall you will find a huge number of Pixel Pitch sizes available (you will see them as MM sizes), this refers to the space between each LED. As a general rule the MM size equates to the minimum viewing distance, but please ask and we can provide you with a more thorough explanantion and recommendation for your project.

MODULES

These are the boards that the individual LED’s are fixed to and also have the processor chip to enable the LED’s to work together as a large display wall. These come in different sizes for both indoor and outdoor display units.

CREATING THE WALL

The final piece for creating the video wall is the cabinet. Cabinets are constructed to both house the modules seamlessly and also interconnect to create the large display. Typically cabinets are around 800MM to 1000MM in size. These cabinets can be interconnected to create a display as big as your space will allow – so think big!

COMPARISON OF DISPLAY TYPES

ADVANTAGES OF LED

There are many advantages to using LED techology for video walls, here are just a few:High brightness (>800 NITS) meaning your display looks great in any space, including well lit areas and ambient light. They are energy efficient and have a long life of >100,000 hours. The LED’s are able to achieve a true black with a special epoxy coating and have a wide colour spectrum.

LED VS PROJECTORS

Although projectors are generally a cheaper option to install, they come with significantly more running and maintenance costs. A typical projector bulb will last 3,000-10,000 hours and are prone to overheating, over time the cost of running and maintenance makes the projector a more expensive option. Projectors can’t compete with the brightness and contrast of an LED Wall and cannot operate in a well lit area.

LED VS LCD

LED tiles connect seamlessly, whereas LCD displays will have lines throughout the screen where the screens meet. LCD will have a high definition resolution, but similar the projector, the LCD cannot compete with the brightness of LED, especially in a well lit or naturally lit area. LED video walls are more versatile with options for curves, corners and rigging.
